A Podcast can be thought of as a radio show. Each show
consists of a series of individual episodes that can be listened to in a variety
of ways - on a PC, using an MP3 player, or with just a web browser.
The term 'Podcasting' derives from Apple's iPod - but you don't need to own an iPod, or any portable music player, to create a podcast or to listen to one. Basically, Podcasting is a new type of online media delivery. You simply download selected audio or video files via the internet and subscribe via an RSS feed to automatically receive new files.
