Greening Barcelona
Barcelona has 2,800 hours of sunshine a year and it is putting this free, clean energy to good use. At the start of the new century, city authorities passed a law requiring all new buildings to use solar energy for their hot water use. The result? A 1400% increase in solar installations and 20% less greenhouse gas emissions by 2012.
