It’s just over five years since the European Union inaugurated the European Neighbourhood Policy, a programme designed to forge closer relations with 16 countries which ring the eastern and southern fringes of the EU.
The following actions are at the heart of the EU’s relations with its near neighbours: from environmental protection and innovation to expanding commerce and building democracy, from health care to food aid, from managing migration to improving security and energy supply. These actions demonstrate many more shared interests and values than are visible at first glance.
To mark the occasion we collected striking footage from most of the countries involved: Algeria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Egypt, Georgia, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Moldova, Morocco, Palestinian Authority, Syria, Tunisia, and Ukraine. In a comprehensive B-Roll, we show the advances these countries have made in a broad range of fields, such as environment, innovation, trade, democracy, etc. This footage is made of a compilation of already existing video productions.
