Expect the unexpected – Anyone for a pancake?

Download this professional clip for free of charge and copyright

Over 188 million people have the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC). Do you?

Young people often want to travel or need to study abroad, they should not forget their EHIC card!

The European Commission wants to specifically target young people that are avid internet users with a new web clip ‘Anyone for a pancake?’. To date, the clip has received 1.870 million viewers with an additional 37.500 on EU Tube.

The EHIC ensures that travellers covered by a national social security scheme in a European country receive the same access to public sector healthcare as nationals of the 31 participating countries*. This free card makes getting access to medical care (e.g. visiting a doctor, pharmacy, hospital or health care centre) away from home and meeting the costs involved easier.

It minimises paperwork and as more travellers carry the card, healthcare providers are becoming increasingly familiar with the procedures they have to follow for foreign patients.

* The EHIC is recognised in all 27 EU Member States plus Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland.
