Serbian born Marijan leads a difficult life, but for the first time he is going to KinderUni. Each year, the University of Vienna organises two weeks of workshops, lectures and courses for children aged 7 to 12, free of charge. Austria, with 12 % of its population below the ‘at risk of poverty threshold’ income of EUR 951 per month, has taken specific measures to fight poverty and social exclusion, especially for children. Thanks to the help of local organisations and European funds, KinderUni offers the possibility for boys like Marijan to find his way in life.
