In Iceland, the threshold for being at risk of poverty is EUR 1,611 with 10 % of the population subsequently at risk of poverty and social exclusion. Augusta, diagnosed with a sever mental illness, lives alone and is unemployed. Thanks to the help she got from the Hlutverkasetur centre, which gives her the opportunity to meet people and to take part in activities at her own pace, she is slowly moving back into society.
