Hundreds of people gathered around the Parliament to create a human ring to say no to poverty and social exclusion on 19 November in Brussels. The event was organized by the 2010 Coalition of social NGOs. Fundamental rights at the heart of European policies, equality between men and women and an end to all discrimination are some of the demands of social NGOs joining the human ring. The Human Ring around the European Parliament comes at a time when concrete and urgent solutions are necessary to create a sustainable way out of poverty.
